CANet® Shift

Canadian health technology startups will go head-to-head, showcasing their technology at the CANet® Shift Pitch – $200,000 Heart Rhythm Innovation Competition.

Three startups will be chosen as finalists to present their technology and ground-breaking solutions to a group of renowned researchers, industry leaders, venture capitalists, and a patient-filled audience.

The pitch winner will receive an astounding CANet-funded grant totaling $200,000!

Phase I

Call for Submissions

January 17, 2020 (Deadline)

Decisions made by the competition organizers during the registration phase are absolute and final, and no claims or challenges about its decisions may be made by competition participants.

Requirements

Teams are required to complete the following:

  1. The online registration form at https://canetshift.com/register/
  2. Produce a pitch video (10mins max.)

Note: videos should be uploaded to Youtube or Vimeo and the video URL must be provided in your registration.

Describe the size and scope of the problem.
Describe the technology.
How does it solve the problem?
How is it better/different from the competition?
What is the current stage of development (what needs to be done, cost and time)?
Describe how the technology will get to the market.
Who will use the technology?
Who will pay for the technology?
Who will produce, distribute, sell, and maintain the technology?

Phase II

Pitch Competition

February 4, 2020

The pitch is the final stage of the competition. Competitors who make it to this round will have to deliver a pitch on February 4, 2020, to a panel of judges in front of a live audience of patients, researchers, industry partners, and community partners.

In preparation for the pitch, teams must submit their materials to CANet® by 11:59 p.m. on January 29, 2020.

If teams do not submit presentation slides by this time, it will be assumed that no slides will be part of the pitch.

Requirements

Teams will be required to deliver their pitch to our panel of judges on stage:

  • Pitch time limit is 5 minutes
  • PowerPoint slides are permitted
